CNY first day

I have a really huge family. Especially on my dad's side. He's got 2 mums and both mums had quite a number of children. Sometimes even till today, i had problems remembering who's who and whats their name. Thats how bad it can be. Maybe we haven't been seeing each other for so long. Just lately on facebook 3 of my cousins added me, they were grand-children of my dad's other mum, whom we weren't so close to, but bearing the same surname. I wasn't sure who they were so i asked who are you. THATS HOW BLUR I WAS. but yeah now that i know, i could hardly remember when we've met!

So yeah i took this picture on the eve of the new year. I didn't photos cuz i'm too preoccupied with another thousands of photos i got to see to! I like the scene from my backyard its just lovely isn't it!

Thats my niece Emmelyn. She's about 10 months old and is trying hard to walk on her 2 feets. She's a cheater! She cant crawl and she wanna learn how to walk! hahahah! I'm gonna show her this post 14 years later! Thats if it still existed! And my sis's playing with her. Emme would get so amused when she touched something ice cold and she'll just start to laugh away. Totally random!

My mum and dad with dad's mum. Were at Uncle Donald's place today we were late so the rest of the other family left. There's us and Uncle Freddy's family with his 2 sons Marcus and Melvyn. Haven't seen them in ages already!

I haven't been too sociable lately and just I'm too cooped up with assignments. Like now my life's just all about assignments and trying to squeeze some time with my parents as well as some of my newly made friends. I made 2 very big mistakes in my life which i've ought to get over it but i cant help the fact having nightmares of it. My passion is not into studying IT but i have no idea why i picked this course via DPA instead. I could have chosen some Business course instead since i was even short listed for the interview, passed it and got into poly. Yeah that was my first mistake. 2nd, was to slack my days away when i was in year 1. and for that my cumulative gpa was 3.16. I thought it could have been better. And my interest totally lost when i came to year 2. Now I'm thinking, how am i gonna be able to get passed this current semester and head on to year 3 with this kind of caliber.

I don't know if I'm thinking too much but i get overly worried about my future and what university I'm gonna be going to. My dream used to be NUS and i was hoping to take up applied physics. That has been my childhood dream as i was overly active in physicsforum at a point of time. But then i thought to myself, I'm either gonna be working oversea or i'll be stucked with being a lecturer when i get my masters. Or rather, the term "If".
Look at the modules under the faculty of physics. I know its not easy but thinking of it comparing to my current path of doing programming i would rather be studying math and science instead.

I wished i could turn back time and start maturing earlier. At least life would have been different. I just fell i'm not even achieving my dreams nor even working towards it.

Am i caring too much? Is it in my league to be concern? Its all just like a target board. The first cold-bore shot is either a hit or miss on its bulls; tried adjusting the elevation and windage but its all aint working; winds just too random. In such instance i just try my best to give a shot. hit or a miss its all depending on fate. I'm thinking too much! Nonsense?

I'm still wondering why does it hurt my heart to see you in this situation. Am i in love? I'm not sure.. I'm just lost.

ISC Dinner and Dance

Yesterday's dinner and dance was by the Singapore Polytechnic International Students Club which was sponsored by downtown east. Dress code for the evening was masquerade even for the photographer. Lucky i wore formal that evening! Well yeah i knew no one there, rendezvous with Sutomo at T11a When i met a new friend she's Hanna. She's my date for that evening i would say? hahah yeah so we had a great non stop chat along the way she's from sparc too and happened to be Jasmine's friend. kewl! That evening i've got my gear all ready; My A350 + Flash gun + 18-55mm, Prime 50 F1.8 and a 55-200mm which i ended up not using at all!

Thanks Sebestian Kim Shen for helping out with the event as well without you it wouldn't have been a blast! Well also all those photogs who were there along with me. yeah You guys all did a great job making this D&D a success!

I have this friend of mine, she's has a rather unique personality. Something which i don't see in other girls as of yet. We met not too while ago. Say about a month or so? We haven't chat much nor hath we met up frequently. I was afraid to approach her at first for she does give me a kind of feeling that she's not approachable. Its probably why i seldom chat with her but i guessed i'm all wrong! She's a really nice person in reality. A woman full of vibrancy, optimism and somewhat brings a smile even at the grayest moments in my life. She's a great friend to be with. She doesn't have to keep talking to me to assure our friendship. But i know, deep in our heart, we do care of each other. Right? I hope you're doing fine, cause i would get worried if you hide your emotions! I'll always be there for you friend, F.ly~ (:

Don't waste your life on a girl

The last thing you would want to do to a girl when she breaks up with you is to go up begging to her not to leave you. Only a wuss would do that begging and such. I've learn much from my previous and i'm still learning how to successfully overcome rejections till today. Like i've always told a friend. She's not worth your time and all. The first few months she's with you. putting all that act that she's been doing and the next moment she breaks up with you for some reason,

come telling her new boyfriend that you're boring, selfish and stuff which is all about negativity. That new guy's your good friend. Look what has the girl done to your life. She first breaks up with you. and now she damages your friendship with your good ol' mate. To be honest with you all. Guys are weak and always fall for every tiny bits of information a girl presents to you. What makes you weaker is to waste your life away thinking of her every moment when you could spend it on improving yourself. Thats the reason why most relationship fails cause we all tend to stay stagnant once you got yourself a partner and you had the bubble of illusion that you have the best of the world. But little did you realise that your competitors are out there improving themselves ready to take your girl away from you.

I've read up lots on David Deangelo's newsletter from time to time on how to identify a wussbag and how not to be one. And why do women love the bad boys while they missed out the good ones. So you guys out there before you want to be successful in life go read up on these books first. Ok i was just being random today but one day i hope this post would save your ass from depression and unnecessary sobs and sadness. (: I will continue when i have the time i have to rush off to an event this evening.

Linux is troublesome, But it brought memories of my past!

I remembered how much i've suffered when i was a total beginner to Linux Operating systems back when i was 15 years old but i just wanna have a try to it cause the feel of linux just makes you somewhat pro'ish. ay? Talk about Ubuntu, currently one of the top distros and i would rate it 2nd in my top 5 Linux OSes. There's also Fedore Core which i've yet to try. Lets not forget Red Hat. Which my school's using it for some of the courses students took. To be very honest, each Linux have a different set of command lines. Maybe thats me but i just seemed to have a good relationship with Gentoo and Ubuntu. But to be honest, Ubuntu is offering quite a basic most simplified UI based os which is pre compiled and is installed just like windows.

Now thats where the fun comes in. I used to read up lots on the Legendary Gentoo distro which has died down since last year. Gentoo is a un-compiled kernel where it needs/enables the user to compile all the sources on his own. Meaning that he could create his own UI and stuff out of it. and the user compiles the source code locally according to their chosen configuration. The end product is like a totally new look which is unique to all users but its still... its Gentoo. it is highly flexible and is optimized based on the user's preferences and i would like to put it as "unlimited adaptability". Personally, i love Gentoo. But the configuration and the compile time can take from hours to days depending on the hardware. Of course there are other precompiled kernels which is running on that of a Gentoo. Thats Sabayon. You could look it up. I've tried it before but it doesn't gain much of my attention. I've tried compiling Gentoo but i gave up at less than 1/8th of the 1 inch thick guide book which i've printed off the net!

I know that there are still people who visits my blog and i think i should wake it up once again. And yeah i made a lot of friends lately thanks to Param cause i took over his job as a main photographer for the sparc compere and spp combined BTT camp which took place earlier this year. Its then i got to know more about my own club mates like, Marcus, Jasmine, Melissa, Mei Eng, Xinyi and so fourth. Theres too many names but yeah basically almost the usual bunch. They were freaking awesome i can tell you! I just love spending my time with them. At that moment i had a sudden urge to take candid shots of Mei Eng and poor her she's like in every 3 photos you could find in my album thats how much of her pictures in it. Omg no scandals please! :D

And not to forget the sparc and compere. There's Selene i knew her for a while its only then we actually started to talk and stuff she's totally happening i can tell you! And that Julien and Felicia. Tsk the 2 of them are like sisters they are always or i'd say most of the time together even when they sleep. oops! Julien's a sweet girl but she's just as blur as Felicia. RIGHT?! hahahah! Its only on the 2nd day that i started to had some chats here and there with them both. (I hate to admit but it takes me a while before i would start warming up.) Oh and Serene reminded me of an actress who acted the Little Nyonya which was broadcasted nationwide a few months ago. She's quite an interesting person to talk to a couple of times we did chat about random stuff, interests and sort.

There's Sab, Alvin, Dave, Zheng Yan, Yue Sheng and a few other guys whom i started to make friends with. They were nice, caring and chatty and most importantly, i could communicate with them easily. hahhah! Yue Sheng reminds me of an army boy cause i saw him wearing the army pants, ZhengYan's cool in nature and he's very gentleman. OMG LETS NOT FORGET FIRMAN which i ended up addressing him as the "fireman" He's always cracking me up with all his randomness i remembered he was all perspiring all over when he laid on Denise's sleeping bag. i was like, LOLOL! He's well known as the sleeping bag stealer! tsk!

Overall the camp was fun over on my side but was pretty much a failure for the campers as the planning were pretty much last minute but no one shall be blamed! Cause in the end, the camp still worked out and what we got to do is to improve on the next one. Thats how i see things and i hope everyone thinks that way too :)

Yesterday was another little photoshoot for our dear SPP friend Ellen well i kinda knew her from Param so neway Param asked if i could help him so i was like yeah sure why not. It was just some simple chalet thingy but i brought a bounce card and a flash kit just to explore subjects and light bouncings i don't know much about the terms in photography but it does bring the point across. haha! Well so yeah here's just some photos to share.

Here's my lil note which i wrote and clipped onto the "tree" given to her. cool right? LOL!

I don't know why the lens are black over the top edges but nvm about that. I had no time for photo editing so sorry about that!

Weekend events: YiHua's Grad night and APEC 09

On Thursday Param called me in the afternoon and asked if i was available for Friday's Grad night photo shoot event and we were photographers for that evening. Guessed what? I ain't got no external flash how wonderful! I wanted to ask my SPP friend he was also using a sony a350 just like mine so i thought of borrowing his ext flash and i'll make a last minute bounce card but oh well i couldn't remember his name! LOLOL!

Ok never mind so yeah i was supposed to take video since i don't have a complete set to start off that evening so sure why not. I asked Wei Kiat along to help though cuz I'm expecting that evening to be shorthanded so true enough lucky i called him along. Brought my notebook along, popped in my card reader and realize the cf slot was faulty and we bought another one for like, 55? See Param i knew what you wanted! I tell you that evening was the first time i used to much of photoshop manszsz. Hell it was easy neway, Quite a failure for me though i could have done better partly because the printer was little slow and didn't have the time to mass print some of the group photos. it all ended at about 2am and we all packed all the stuff before we headed off to supper. Told mum i'll be staying over at Param's place cause one of the alumni was kind enough to send us home along the way. Managed to get to know a few new friends and they were awesome!

I thought staying over at Param's place would be a better choice cuz we had to head down to the APEC event which falls on the next day. that evening we decided to have mac near his house and we saw 2 of Param's juniors happened to be there too. What a small world! Chat about random stuff before heading back for sleep. Was so damn tired by the next day.

Saturday, 14th November, 1300hrs we met Jing Song He wanted to get a bag but unfortunately couldn't get any so we had lunch at AMK before heading down to City Hall to meet Kendrick and Jing Ting was there too! Haven't seen Jing Ting for so long after some shit happened and were like noobs amongst Kendrick, Jing Song and Param cause they were using imba cameras LOL! A guy awaits our arrival and gave us our pass for entering the sealed off section guarded by lots of police and security was tight around Esplanade. Everywhere we went we had to display our pass so yeah i wouldn't be surprised knowing that its such an event going on. We were working for picture works tho and Pico was the sponsor i think? There were 3 sections allocated to us, The Paranakan was mine and Kendrick's i couldn't remember the other 2. SORRY! I only know Jing Song was alone with another person if i remembered. Sandra briefed me with the functions of the printer and how stuff works and i'm good to go. Did a few "Personal" prints along the way. Guests started rolling in at about 1800 hrs and Kendrick was taking photos while i switched with him it was hectic as more guests arrived and we got to be quick.

The somewhat first few waves of guests were from mainly China and Vietnam and omg we had a hard time recognizing them. No pun intended tho :D I was really having fun and i'm so thankful for those who were assisting me along the way i feel that i owe them one. Cause Sandra didn't expect my task to be so hectic so much that one had to assist me with getting the prints from the printer and put them into a R4 holder and another guy helped me with distributing them to the guests. Along the way i was enjoying myself with free flows of Tiger Beer and it was effing awesome! LOL

Made a whole bunch of new friends along the way all that ended pretty late but were lucky that we managed to catch the last train. Crapp! I didn't get to take much photos so i got to count of Kendrick for them all! :D I'll post pictures later tho. Copyrighted by Kendrick. LOL

Bacteria would be the next player in ultra-micro mechanisms?

A Group of Italian Scientists have made an interesting discovery about having random tiny objects placed in a pool of micro-organisms such as bacteria. One example would be the use of miniature asymmetrically shaped cog wheels which are just a few hundreds of a millimeters. The random movements of the bacteria in the cog wheels causes it to spin. When our human perception of "touch" meets physics

Do you think you are actually grabbing hold of a mug which has in it, your all time favorite cappuccino? Or do you even think that you are resting on the chair? We'll look into that when i take you to a journey into the the world of atoms and space. Did you know that at one point our galaxy could be packed into the size no larger than that of a microscopic organism? Yes indeed. Most of our everyday things that we have, beer bottles, your ipod and whatever matters we considered as "matters" are quite nearly vacuums. Most of our interactions with everyday things are caused my tiny bits of gravitational and electromagnetic forces between the atoms.

However, i agree with some of the professionals telling me that "Touch" is subjective but as we all know that most of what we think of as "matters"; even metals are about 99.999999% "empty space." Strange isn't it? So if that's the case, i would be guessing some questions such as "So why aren't we able to walk through walls then or even fall through them?" Like i said, electromagnetic repulsions on the atom scale prevents this from happening unless you could somehow arrange all your atoms in your body to somehow "fit" into the wall but no, lets not branch into this as i see lots of people asking the same question in forums.

So yes back to about touching mugs and sitting on chairs. I wouldn't say you are sitting on your chair now; cause if we take a look at the electrons in the outer shell of the atoms, they would repel each other at 10^-8 meters but rather, floating/hovering over it.

As far as our perceptions of how solid structure goes, a mate once said, like when you're having sex, you are merely exchanging protons with no physical touch between the atom of... (lolol i don't wish to continue further but you'll get the point) WaveJumper(PhysicsForums)you do have a sense of humor.

And yes don't underestimate Electromagnetic forces. its MUCH MUCH stronger than Gravitational force though you still feel the weigh on you doing pushups. But if you would like to give a shot to test electromagnetism, Strike a hammer to a boulder. See how it "repels" :P (This might be noobs to the experts but it drives the idea i thought it would be a better easy visual experiment).

I've got a multi-million dollar idea which i thought of sharing with you guys. I'm not sure if its already been made but its worth giving a go at it. We all know that dive schools are fun and interesting and often people could dive in the blue sea to enjoy the lovely sight of corals and other sea creatures. However, accidents do happen. My cousin died a few years back while he was on a holiday trip to one of the Asian countries and he was there for some leisure diving. But apparently he was left out when the leader miscounted him, leaving him stranded in the water, when they set off, the propeller cut him face off which punctured his brains, killing him instantly. That was really sad and you know, I've only met him twice ever since by birth.

But neway i was thinking of a kind of 3D imaging system which there will be a "pinging" device below the boat which occasionally calculates the dept of the water and returns a value to the computer, this computer then generates a 3d meshed image. apart from that, divers are equipped with a tracking system and also returns the approx depth and coords of his/her location in the water. In this way we could track and make sure that no one is left behind. The 3d tracking technology's been out long ago. So its only about implementing it. ;)

I just love eating grapes, until i've tried Korean Grapes, the taste is just right and its texture is somewhat like eating jelly! it costs s$5+ bucks for a punnet and seriously! you pay for the quality and its taste! The texture of these grapes is sinply the best i've tasted; it has got a slightly thicker skin and the flesh comes right off it when you bite on it, something like drinking grape soda or grape candy :p Good stuff!! (Y)

M14 mod0 Enhanced Battle Rifle aka m14-EBR

This is a non firing replica of the m14 EBR you see in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and i've just completed a matte coat of paint to enhance its looks. I'll say again, this is a non-firing legal replica which the Singapore customs have already approved and its harmless and does not violate the Arms and Explosive Act nor pose a direct threat to the national security. I'll be putting this rifle up for sale at the price of 200 including a scope and a 42" carrier case.

Schrodinger's Virus saves the cat's day

It was known that in 1935, Erwin Schrodinger devised his famous thought experiment – in which a cat is both alive and dead at the same time – to highlight the paradoxical nature of quantum mechanics. Now, a group of physicists in Germany and Spain believe that it should be possible to build an experiment in which an actual living creature such as a virus is held in a superposition of quantum states.

The idea of the experiment is where we imagine a cat is being placed in box where it contained a glass filled with poison toxic, where near the glass there is a radioactive substance, a hammer and a Geiger counter. Its made/set up in a way that if the radioactive substance decays it will activate the hammer and smash the glass killing the cat. Since the radioactive material is so weak, there is a 50:50 chance of decay, which means, Quantum mechanics would tells us that the material would be in a quantum superposition of both experiencing a decay and not. Which therefore, also places the cat in the quantum superposition. Meaning, being both dead and alive.

However, there a plan to use a single cell organism to do the job rather than using cats, hence, i would say it would be a good news for cat lovers and cats, to read on check out this link,

Like finally i'm home but parts of me still missed Turkey despite getting sick of the food and missing our local cuisine. I remembered my first day when we departed from Singapore on a 7 hr flight to Dubai and later another 3 hrs to Turkey Istanbul, Dubai airport was beautiful! I bet its like many times better than Singapore's but no doubt since they are like a hub where planes stop over to refill especially where those which travels from East to West of the globe.

upon arrival we met our tour guide but crap i forgot his name even until today. LOL. Yeah so we went to see the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Hagia Sophia was once a Church when later it was converted to a mosque which later became a museum. Google to read on if you're interested. We've learn lots during this trip and one would be the women having equal rights as the men. Which means the men are not allowed to have many wives. What surprises me mostly is that the women there are not obliged to cover their head which other Muslim countries makes it a compulsory. (Correct me if i'm wrong) So we went to various places in turkey including Çanakkale, Bolu, Cappadocia and most parts of Anatolia.

Like I've said, I've had a bad experience in a hotel that we were staying at Cappadocia and the worse thing is that we are staying there for 2 NIGHTS. I'm not mentioning the name of it as i don't want to destroy the image of that hotel, in fact, i loved the food there. I'm a non believer in most stuff including supernatural stuff and even believing in god but its only today that i think i would start believing in Mother Mary and stuff and i will lug along a rosary for protection whenever i enter a hotel.

This hotel was special, the lift doors weren't automatic, it was like a fridge door where you have to pull open the door when it reaches the level your are at, and you enter the lift, it was interesting! At first we waited at the lift lobby like idiots people were watching us also and we didn't know the lift was "manual" LOLOL! Until someone opened for us and we were like WTF?!
yeah and so we went up to our rooms and the corridor was creepy as hell and reminded me of the movie "1408". The corridor was dark as they had motion censors to save electricity. And one by one the corridor lits up as we walked. I just feel some weird feeling like as if someone was watching me from somewhere it was creepy. My mood changed and i was quiet throughout the night, i don't know why but i just felt pissed and angry, i walked in my room i can already feel the strong presence of something. No shit but really there is something there. My cousin didn't feel it cuz she's a catholic and she has her rosary. To tell the truth i didn't bathe that night until the next day, mum had her own encounter which i think it went to her room. The next evening wasn't so bad cause it left my room so i felt much better.

So when i got back to Singapore after like 10 days i was telling myself, " YAYS i'm home, and i got so tired of Turkish food, i mean, its nice eating for the first few days with cheese, bread, Turkish salad and stuff, but you'll just get tired of it after the 5th day or so that happened to me. And Annabelle was like lucky we weren't taking Turkish Air home like the others in my group or its gonna be another night of Turkish delight. LOLOLOLOLOLL!

And we took SIA instead, service was good and i kinda talked chat with this air stewardess and she was pretty nice but sadly she got to stop over at Dubai so yeah hope to see her around some time. When they gave the menu for dinner i was like OMFG CHICKEN BREAST MEAT AGAIN? i was likeeee NO WAY!! I'm gonna fish instead! :D as usual, my all time favorite Baileys Irish Cream and i ordered like thrice so far. So, back to Singapore and i helped Annabelle bought some whiskey for her friend and here's what happened.

*Queues up at the duty free for 5 mins* Upon reaching the counter, the cashier asked, "Hi welcome, is that all you are purchasing? You are entitled to purchase a bottle of wine, wiskey and a box of beer." upon looking at my passport, she said " Sorry but sir we only sell to those who are departing, for arrivals please visit the duty free shop just below." another potential FML. LOL.

Recently there is a new update for Firmware 3.0 for your iTouch or iPhone, please be reminded that once again, if you intent to update your iTouch YOUR IPOD WILL BE UN JAILBROKENED. Which means you need to jailbreak it again. And the home dev team of redsn0w and quickpwn hasn't come out with a jailbreak tool yet. So the keyword is, stay on the 3.0 as for now till there are further updates.

Suppressors, Subsonic and Supersonic rounds

Here's a simple/N00b explanation on how Suppressors work but if you want a more detailed answer Google it :P. A sound suppressor, often known as silencers, is a device attached to the barrel of the firearm to reduce muzzle flash as well as sound. However, they do not eliminate 50% of the noise or completely reduces the sound from firing from the gun. They are normally cylindrical shaped with various mechanism in it which reduces flash and sound by slowing the escaping gas and the bullet's velocity. And, Silencers are used to quiet down the "explosion" in the barrel and not quieting the sound of the bullet as it escapes the barrel.

In games like Call of Duty 4, Suppressors seemed to eliminate like 70% of the original sound but i won't say its impossible but, it can only be achieved by choosing the right munition for it. So lets all come back to reality! A 22 LR produces a sound over 160 dB. With suppressors it eliminates the noise to 130. So in other words, you gotta wear a safety ear protection muffs when you're firing over the safe limit of 85dB.

There are 2 types of ammunition which are present today, They are the Sub and supersonic ammunition. Supersonic ammunition are commonly used and they make a "crack" sound when it travels in the air. This is due to the velocity of the bullet.
While, subsonic bullets are also used not only for military covert operations, but for animal control officers and others who need to use a nearly silent or legal suppressed firearm to avoid alarming other animals, upsetting nearby livestock, or bothering the neighbors. Sometimes the use of a suppressed weapon in civilian animal control situations is politically wise, as it allows the necessary use of firearms without attracting undue attention from irrational activist groups. Subsonic bullets in legal suppressed firearms are also fun to shoot for target practice, eliminating the sonic crack that requires hearing protection, disturbs neighbors, and frightens livestock. So if you used a Subsonic bullet with a suppressor. That's where the game comes to reality. (or i think it would? lol)

Microsoft's Windows 7 at your fingertips

How exactly good is the windows 7 which was proclaimed to be the better of the flawed vista? We'll see about that. Seems that Microsoft has finally removed most of the irrelevant items and made the current or rather upcoming OS a more productive, efficient and less crash prone (i hope..).

Once released, i would definitely be getting a copy for both my desktop and notebook. This W7 has the same hardware requirements just like the vista but with a little more UI enhancement with cool desktop effects.

Whats more? Users who's been fretting over multiple windows which sorta clogged up the desktop will now see themselves using this Aero Peek thingy which basically make all windows translucent and shows an outline of every window opened.

There's also the Aero Shake input which lets users "shake" a window to minimize all other windows which are currently opened. This serves as a good purpose for rapidly minimizing all other windows should your boss be catching you doing something which you weren't supposed to. oops!

Multiple desktop display!! Wow finally it has arrived on windows despite its competitor Linux and Mac having them way earlier! How you could switch displays with a simple windows+P key on your keyboard and poof! Well basically thats all and 7 will also support the coming Dx11 cards. :)

I, have to be honest with myself that i'm not a hardcore fan of him but i feel for him, the years which he has put up with and suffered under the influence of the media. Obviously people sees him as a pedophile but i swear to you he's ain't one. There are people out there who are worse! Child fuckers out there who spend their whole savings travelling to Thailand to-and-fro for getting all that fun. Why not get those people instead?

His death merely made more people appreciate his presence which not many did. Well you could say i'm one of them, Its only when i hear about his passing that i start to missed him well and again, Happy birthday, may you be finding a better life elsewhere.

Don't blame the government for banning airsoft. Don't blame them for banning chewing gums. Do you know who are the main culprits which made these things banned. WE and US all. But majority of the us are the immature kids who lacked proper upbringing from their parents. Years back when gums were allowed people simple do pranks with it and caused lots of problems around the neighborhood, where people stick them around buttons and seats, even littering around Singapore. How about airsoft? Just one year after the sports was introduced some fucking kids who were so irresponsible, went around shooting others and hurting them indefinitely. This is why i hate Singapore kids so much. They are young, immature, irritating and a complete nuisance to the public if they are not brought up properly by their parents. Me, as a gun enthusiast have to put up with Singapore rules and regulations pertaining to the perpetual ban of guns have certainly killed my hobby and life just got more dull in Singapore.. Why? all because of those goddamn kids.

I was just talking to Su Guang Hui of "toys and panzer works" and he was telling me about all those "Ginas" or rather kids who just keep asking the same questions over and over again like,

My views on "Ah Lians"

Some of you all have probably heard of this website or rather blog which features a group of people flaming "Ah lians and bengs" a d describes them as hoodlums and a burden to society (or what other words you can think of). Yeah i will have to agree with that. Its just their character and their fucking attitude which pisses me off. Acting cool and all that shits. Well if you're young i would understand cause you guys might think its cool. Well not till you're older.

And besides me hating them that much. I'm not liking the "aal" blog either. Wanna know why? Its cuz they're no different from the lians and bengs though they hate them. They would go all around the same route hating here and there and never get the fuck over it. Its the same as people in my school. People just don't get over issues. lmao So yeah If you happened to be someone who supports aal or what ever please stop being a keyboard warrior and keep blogging about how much you hate them. How to jailbreak your iTouch 2G Firmware 3.0

In this step by step tutorial i will teach you how to jailbreak your iTouch 2G once you have installed your Un-jailbrokened 3.0. I will need you to locate your .ipsw file. This file is your backup content of your itouch 2g and it contains all that stuff on it. It should be in this directory...
C:\Users\*USERNAME8\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

**A Side reminder and help to total pc noobs. if you cant find the folder listed below is BECAUSE you did not enable view super hidden folders and files. To do so simply click on TOOLS on the top panel, followed by FOLDER OPTIONS and then click on the tab "view". In the advance settings panel click the button "show hidden files and folders"**.

1)If you found that file, copy it and place onto your desktop.

Else if you cant locate it proceed to step 2 onwards and don't bother trying to find that :D

2) Backup ALL your media content including your applications, Games, Musics and Photos/ Videos. Either do so by syncing with your pc or have a folder storing all your apps games and stuff in a folder and later sync them. This is because when you're gonna jailbreak your itouch you ARE going to lose all your contents in it but not stuff like contacts, notes and some settings.

3) Now, proceed to this webby to download your copy of an .ipsw file.

Select iPod Touch 2G (7A341) and download it, place on your desktop after that..

4) Download a copy of redSnow from my site. This is version 0.7.2 and palce on your desktop unzip it afterward.

5)Put your iPod into DFU mode and connect it to iTunes. To enter DFU mode, turn your ipod off and then hold the lock and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the lock button while holding the home button. iTunes should say your ipod is in DFU mode an needs to restore, just ignore it and move on to step 6

6)open redsn0w.exe and browse your .ipsw file which is located on your desktop.

7) Follow the onscreen instruction in redsn0w...

8) If i am not wrong... redsn0w patches a new ipsw file for you based on the one which you have selected at the step when you opened redsn0w.

9)use that patched file and shift + click on the restore ipodtouch in itunes..

10) once you've restored it you will see cydia installed on your itouch2g.

1) Open cydia.....

2) Navigate to "Manage", then press "sources", press Edit and add this webby in it.. http://cydia.hackulo.us/

3) It says you're adding a untrusted bla bla but nvm just carry on..

4) Now go "search" and look for this file called "AppSync" then you'll see a result containing this "AppSync for OS 3.0"

5) download and install it. and voila! :D

While people are praising how good their friends are i think i should be starting a new trend telling people how bad of a friend i am. I mean seriously look, i used to have tons of friends in school. Just cuz of one stupid screw up i just feel that I'm not like. Look here I'm not gaining sympathy or what cause i don't need any. Corrine's a really nice friend, like Eugene, cookie and all. But people have to know. I don't talk doesn't mean i don't care. yeah i got to make things clear to my other friends too. I'm just a freaking geek and i engage 60% of my life in front of the PC looking up new stuff and hobbies to keep me going like axle grease on a machine. Well people might get insulted if they read this but this is my way of expressing cause i like to reason things out. I may not be a good friend who talks to anyone like every other day but I'm someone who could bail your ass out someday if you need some major help. Well that's what real friends should do right? but people just under appreciate that. Param's a good mate though at times I'll make fun of him calling him black and stuff but we are still best buddies and we hang out frequently. We helped one another out, share our problems.

What i would hate most are people who could still smile at me like nothing's wrong but they do have issues with me. Ok Eldwin please grow out of this cause this is reality. yeah don't have to tell me that i know i just want to write it down to state the obvious. Things won't be like before anymore ever since so much has happened. Like i have always said, your decisions are all irreversible. Once they are decided, you cant change the course but you can try to amend it. As for her, I still feel she's in a depression. Sometimes i wanna ask her if she's fine but its just I'm not good with it. I get paranoid when people tell me their fine but actually they're not. I think I'd prefer if you'll tell me you're not fine. Maybe i would feel better? hahahaha what a sicko -.- But yeah the whole point of the idiotic post is, I'm not gonna acknowledge them all anymore. The busy random week

I haven't been blogging lately ever since the last time I've posted something really random so i thought tonight would be a chance for me to post up my thoughts and deeds for this week. its been hell for me cuz of the final semester exams and I've been screwing each one up day by day. Bloody thank god I'm left with 2 more papers. And its holiday!

Just 2 days ago i was running some system check on my pc cause its really old and its time i'll upgrade it or built a totally new rig but money again is an issue. So i've gotta wait till i have some cash to spend on a new rig. But thanks to Imran that he told me its not worth up upgrading it anyway 2 more yearsi'll be in the army. Why not wait till i'm out then i start building that rig. (sounds like a really good idea). Well good friends gives good advice he's just saved me from spending another few thousands on something i could have waited. Well maybe i'll go on a shopping spree instead and stock up on some new clothes ^^.
yeah back to my pc.. Its been 5 years since i've "unclogged" the dusts from it and its really getting on my nerves. Slowed performance, overheating issues and stuff. So i went to simlim the next day to purchase a coolermaster thermal compound to replace those from my graphics card and my cpu. Cleaned the heat pipes of my Scythe Ninja Plus as well as my 7900gt card which is crap old! 1st pic, Scythe ninja plus clogged with tons of dirt and dust. 2nd pic, my gigabyte ga-965-ds4 motherboard. 300 yard range shooting

This scope's been fitted onto a 5.56 caliber rifle since its obvious by looking at its effective bullet drop of up to 800 yards if its zeroed at 100 yards 1 MOA. 3 clicks per inch with a 7 degree Field of view of this 4x32mm scope. I took this image cause i thought it'll look better than the others . Its obviously shooting some metal plates at 300 yards. But please correct me if i'm wrong cuz i'm still learning. LOL

Why? lets look into some scenarios which we should all take into consideration. Women likes men who have high standards. So in order words, Guys should learn to be more picky and it really helps. And when you're single it is the best time that you start improving yourself. Many people think that being in a relationship means that they have everything in the world and everything around them seemed to stop and they would tend to become a wuss.

Let me tell you why attractive women are easier to date. There is this hypothesis where if there are many guys who liked this particular girl and you want to win them all there is one way out. And it is to be different. Then you would ask me. What do you mean by different?

women who has the looks would probably know every guy in the world that wants them and for that, they would walk through the world ASSUMING that on a subconscious level. So if you would "admit" that you're interested in her, in all these subtle and cute little ways that you have worked for all these while, you're just basically making yourself more and more like all the other guys in the world (in her mind, that is). So if you are really interested in her all you have to do is hold on. Good things only come to those who wait patiently. Then when will it be the right time? i will explain later. :)

Its sometimes good to keep women in suspense. For example, not telling her that you liked her or that you wanna get into a relationship with her. So stop with the secretly trying to let women know
that you're "interested". They know it cause its true that men cant hide secrets and women have better sense when it comes to love. The more you are Cocky & Funny, unpredictable, flirty, and charming... and the more you never admit to ANYTHING, the more fascinated and attracted she's going to feel. ;) Get rid of the idea that letting her know that you like her with words is going to be a good thing early on. If anything, tell her she's a Brat, that she's walking on thin ice, and that she'd BETTER watch her step or else you'll leave her for a rich older woman who may not look so good but will pay all your bills and take care of you and will be more enjoyable to visit museums and movies with - even if it does mean taking Geritol! its good to be cocky at times! But do know the limit too..

Its probably because of the music that goes along with it which made me think how it is like do have your good buddies all around you dying in the war. I just don't get why certain online stores don't so mails to Singapore a few good examples would be Barrett Rifles or even Browning. Is it that fedex don't do international mailing to Asian countries like us? I don' know but it just sucks. I wanted to buy a couple of tees from them and its so much of a trouble confirming my shopping cart. Sent them a mail and delivery failed like twice.. Called them and its like there's no reply. American friends if you're reading this please do me a favor. :)

What a lucky escape

If its just 4 days ago i've lost 13k just investing on Corus Bankshares it had an open price at 0.30 when it dropped to 0.24 just within 3 hours after i threw in 100k, so i waited and managed to lose at most a few thousands. My luck came when Citygroup's shares plunged and i managed to make 15k which gives me a gain of 10.8k, 3.3k from Wells Fargo and Co and the rest from Intel Corp. I'm not gonna bid for microsoft shares hopefully it rise by tonight. Not too bad though! But there's no way i could reach the top 15 best investor of the month I'll just try it again this coming August.

And yes i paused the plan to ship in Rifle scopes and military Grade Night Vision Goggles due to the an Email which I've sent to Singapore Customs and I've yet to receive and reply from them as of now and its been about a week. There's already some for sale you guys can check it out at Black Tactical by my buddy and he's selling them too.

I do think that you are indeed, suffering from a mild depression, I mean, I've observed your character change over these few weeks i'm sure something's not right. Its like, you're starting to be friends with everyone again after so much has happened. I don't know how you define friends but it personally think that you should start to consider who are really your friends and who are not. On surface level friends appear nice but what comes on the back no one knows. So please look into it. If i may be the one who has mistaken then i'll apologise but i still stand strong against my foes. But if i'm right then i think its time you take sides, being nowhere makes you a true friend to no one.

WIth a surprise

Just yesterday evening I came home with a surprise after i got up from my short nap. Dad bought a new iMac 24" desktop pc. Definitely an eyecandy to my apple collection and i loved it! Well at least i need not work on the little 19" desktop screen which i had, multimedia and video/image editing made easier. And i'll be moving over to mac os soon for stability and since its running along the same lines as linux kernel adapting to it shouldn't be much of a problem after all. So i was like, whats next? A macbook pro 17" note

I went home yesterday and its like, shit! i forgot to drop by my spp clubroom to meet xinyi cuz she said she wanna book her btt at ubi but when i called her she told me she already registered an account. LOL! Cya guys soon!

Few stuff i hate most when i'm shopping

Whenever i shop around different places I'm often pleased with the customer services. However there are also few cases where the sales person totally piss me off so i thought of sharing it here.

1) You walk into the boutique, the person approaches you and ask you how can he/she help you. When you tell her "Thank you for your assistance but I'm just browsing." And guess what. The sales person would trail you along where you go and see what you're doing. You know how irritating that is? Its the same logic as when you're in the changing room and some random person is in there watching you. 2) Inexperienced customer handling. This is the most fucked up part and you'll experience it in many places selling techies stuff. Why? cause it makes you wanna walk off and not patronize them no more. So here's the thing. Lets say you walk in to ABC Stuffs and you wanna buy a product say, an iTouch 2g. Being a total idiot to IT. You asked the sales person about the specs and guess whats their reply? "Its here what! There you see! All here. Take a look at it."
Goddamnit, if the customers are smart enough they wouldn't be asking you in the first place. If they are smart enough we don't even need to employ people like you to sell these products where machines could do better jobs. I mean, for christ sake, whats so difficult explaining simple stuff? Are you that lazy?

This is what i've observed on how customers are treated around in Singapore and i would say its a very disappointing sight to see in such a 1st world country. Prove me wrong, even Malaysia have better customer service. Thumbs up for them. Singapore, work on it or suck on it!

Why flash sucks

Before i will start ranting over why flash sucks i will start by giving my good comments over it since its just my beginning of my journey learning flash. Well, flash is indeed a very powerful tool which is not only a standard plugin for most browser but with flash you could do unlimited things! Wonderful huh? from Userinterface to games and other cool stuff its simply wonderful.

But things suck if you are someone who knows flash especially ActionScript 2.0 and suddenly having to pickup the new ActionScript3.0 code format. Well like I've posted over my Facebook just a couple of mins ago, flash sould have included some kinda crossplaform work around where people could use both as3 and as2 codes on a same design. I've been working on my assignment for days searching the net for as3 examples and i can tell you its like finding needles in a haystack or you gotta fork out money if you wanna use them. I don't like that. I mean, its caused i had to use as3 for my assignment otherwise i would have sticked to the older version since there are like, tons of examples on the net you could find such as ffiles.com and stuff. So my point being is simple, who ever marks my assignment please don't have too much hope cause its gonna lack lots of stuff.

I know i've been an ass to you lately cuz its like we haven't chat for ages and when we met its like i'm giving you a cold shoulder. Its not because of you or her i just dunno how to put it cause when i try to tell you its like i'm giving an excuse but when i try to explain i feel that i'm running away from it. its just, partly, i'm stressed up with my workload, by upcoming biz plan which i planned out with a few others. But i think its caused of the problem we had in our clique that really affected me and i thought it would be ok within a few days or so. I thought we could hang out like before. I thought i could bring back the past again. But it seems it takes a while before stuff gets better.

And right now i'm also confused who're the innocent ones i've been hating all these while which caused a stir but its like there's no way i'm gonna like walk up to them and tell them "I'm sorry for messing things up i hope we'll be friends again". Not my kinda thing i'd do for sure. Besides, i guess you've got better friends out there so its like i would rather you have fun with them cause to be honest, i'm not someone who could crack jokes, being high and stuff but i'm someone who's pretty much more serious about life. And its like, i dun wanna dig in too much pretending to chat with you for the sake of chatting aimlessly cause i feel its so fake like what people are doing. I'm just trying to be myself and this is the real me. I'm only a good listener but i cant spark convos. Well its more like i'm sharing things about myself i guess a shit load of others would be reading through this but nah it doesn't matter tho. Cheers ya?

Well, its only today that i've found out the death of Darrell "Shifty" powers, 86, of Shifty Lane, Clinchco, Va., passed away on Wednesday June 17, 2009. As a world war II veteran, having served in the 101st Airborne, 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment. he was a member of the Easy Company having its recognition as the "Band of Brothers" who fought courageously throughout D-day, Operation Marketgarden, the Battle of the Bulge and to Hitler's Eagles Nest. When i heard of his passing it was indeed bad news for me cause i have always been a great fan of them and their courage lives through me till today. The world has become a better place because of you guys and we appreciate your effort! Rest in peace!

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Barnum and Audrey Colley Powers; brothers, James, Barnum and Frank Powers; and a great-grandson Gavin Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Dorothy; son, Wayne (Sandy) Powers of Clinchco, Va., daughter, Margo (Seldon) Johnson of Bristol, Va., sister, Gaynell (Clair) Sykes of Roanoke,Va.; sisters-in-law, Ann Powers of Clintwood Va., Betty Powers of Greenville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Clay (Kayla) Powers, Dove Powers, Jake (Dawnyale) Johnson and Luke (Amanda) Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Caden Powers and Cooper Powers; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and special family friends the Robinettes, Carol, David and Tammy and Suzanne Axtell.

Have you guys heard of this movie called Full Metal jacket? Well if you haven't you've probably missed one of the greatest movie during the 1990s and its obviously one of the war films i'd watch over and over again and it never gets old. Gunnery Sargent hartman's speech to the recruits its probably how you'd experience army life during the old days of military training in the USMC. Even till today. Thats why the USMC trains soldiers by their quality. not the quantity unlike the US army. Cool huh?

I loved it when he said the following phrases to his Recruits.

"If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war. But until that day you are pukes. You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human, fucking beings. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit. Because I am hard you will not like me. Review of the new LG Arena s-class UI vs iphone UI

Would the new s-class LG series deem it as an iphone 3G killer? We'll see to that in a minute. Featuring a whole new interface system developed by LG in terms of comparing with other phone brands out there its already a hint that LG might be catching up with apple's "alien" technology in no time. Many are already speculating that the iPhone 3G killer has finally arrived! Obviously the Arena is now packed with lots of cool stuffs and content in it which made a hit recently.

So lets start with the Apperance of the phone. The Arena's screen is slightly smaller than that of the 3G and its slightly thicker too but thats not too much of a problem. The dimensions of the LG Arena stand at 105.9 x 55.3 x 11.95mm, whereas the dimension of the iPhone 3G is 115.5 x 62.1mm x 9.9mm. The Arena also offers a resolution of 480 x 800 where the iPhone 3G only offers a resolution of 320 x 480. Hence, i can only conclude that the Arena's screen is more colorful and full of effects so to speak.

Now for the Music and Sound Quality, The new Arena is packed with an FM radio but the iPhone 3g doesn't. So thats a thing we all have to consider of a side note. The music is obviously of the top notch quality in case of Apple iPhone 3G, but Arena does not disappoint us as well. Both offer a great quality sound and videos of the highest resolution. For web browsing, both of the mobiles offer fast 3G network with in-built Wi-Fi as well. The storage memory of both the mobiles is also similar offering 8GB internal memory and expandable up to 16GB of data. Accelerometer is also in built in both the mobiles as well.

What i think made the Arena stands out as the winner is clearly the 5mp camera compared to Apple's miserable 2mp camera. Arena also has an option of video recording and as far as multimedia is concerned, the Arena simply outclasses the iPhone 3G. What interests me to this point is that Arena offers Schneider-Kreuznach optical lenses for greater clarity as well as an LED Flash option and autofocus technology embedded in it. Marvelous aint it?

But do take note of this. To this point iPhone could snap back and be the winner once again is due to the reason that it has the ability to add third party applications and games and lots of other stuff, you could install and use thousands and thousands of apps on your iphone but it is what the Arena lacks. But what can you expect from a mobile phone? there's always an answer to it by getting an itouch =P But if you are pretty desperate to get a mobile apart from the iPhone 3G theres always an alternative and that is the LG Arena. To sum it all up, LG Arena may be called an ‘iPhone 3G killer’ as it is preloaded with exciting new features and great looks. Overall, its definitely one of the best smart phones released this year, LG Arena will offer you the best and you will certainly be pleased with it!

Its been a while

Sorry lads its been a few days since i last updated my blog, partly cuz I've been busy with my exams which are just over a couple of days ago well so yeah I'm back once again. So I've just gotten my Linux live cds which i've ordered from Canonical and it took them 3 weeks to ship it from Netherlands to Singapore. And for today, my niece got baptized in the church today and my other cousins were there as well while i was dreaming away in my bed i cant believe i'd do that i'm like so guity right now cuz i weren't there.

And i was really bored at home so i took a picture of myself holding my m4 carbine along with wearing a 3 hole mask i forgot the right name for it. By the way i'm no terror or planning to do silly stuff its just a random shot i thought of.

Oh my friggin day thank god its the end of our mst so glad it has ended. Now its like, back to school and assignments. hahahas not that its a real problem but its the start of a new me cuz i so love my current life. I wonder why some people are reading my blog lol i saw some "Brilliant potential backstabbers and look nice on the outside" just when i reached school today. hahas who cares, doesn't matter much to me anyway, i have more important things to see to. And i met Param today and we went to City Hall. At first i wanted to look for a survival knife cuz somewhere later this year i'll be living in the rurals in malaysia with a couple of mates. Hopefully. its been a long while since i've wanted to try adventurous stuff but mum just doesn't allow that she'd probably worried about my health and safety but i wouldn't blame her.

Here's how a typical survivor knife looks like what you see in movies like Rambo, Its a very handy tool and its one of the item you'll sure to need when you live out there. (Its exaggerating here in Asia cause there's no roaming bears or tigers but you should get the point.)

And right after looking around we decided to check out jaben and try out some new earpieces cuz i wanted to get a new one for my ipod touch. So i finally set my mind on a Futuresonics Atrios instead probably with an amp along with it. But i'm gonna need to save up some cash before that! Cause that thing cost me 200+. It has the bass which i've always wanted and your ears just won't feel the pain even if you'd blast it to the max. Cool shit! cant wait to lay my hands on one!

Now for some good news, I've suscribed to a 15Mbit miO home internet plan and i've got wireless too, Like finally after my last router died from an overheat. Jailbreaking your ipod touch 2g v2.2.1

This is fairly simple tutorial to Jailbreak your iPod Touch 2nd Generation Version 2.2.1. However, i do not guarantee or will not be liable for any loss of data, brick of your ipod or any damages or loss and do it at your own risk. Do it only if you are sure of what you are doing. First of all. make sure you stand by your ipod touch and connect it to your pc.

#1: Connect your ipod to your pc.

#2: Bring your ipod to DFU mode by holding the off button and the back button together for 10-12 seconds. Once your ipod shows an apple symbol, continue to hold on the back button until the ipod is unresponsive.
(You will know its in dfu mode when you open up itunes and the program tells you that your ipod is in restore mode)

#3: Once your done, download this little file here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xyl8is

#4: extract the file to your desktop it should be around 14 mb. This is the alpha release of redsn0w and it runs on the command line i know it sucks but its fairly simple!

#5: Run the program by clicking on the exe file and let the program handles. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR IPOD. Leave it there and let it run. ( Also make sure you watch over your pc and windows update doesn't restart your pc.)

#6: Depending on some individuals, the process might take about 10 mins or so, some would come to an hour. If you need more explanation at this point of time, please watch this video.

When its done, you will know its jailbroken when you see a Cydia app is being installed in your list. However, theres still some stuff you need to do before you could get your *ahem ahem* apps to be able to be installed on your ipod touch 2g.

This following guide below helps you to install an important file needed to patch MobileInstallation.

#1: Open cydia in your ipod Touch 2g.
(I assume you have installed all the updates cydia needed so you just have to follow through the gui process)

#2: Navigate to Manage panel, select Sources and then press Edit.
This will allow you to add sources into cydia. Now select add, and enter this address:
http://cydia.hackulo.us

It warns you that this site is illegal and what not but nah just carry on with it. when your done, navigate to the Search panel, then search for this file called "miPatch" you'll see the listing which returns mipatch Firmware 2.2.1. Bingo! Install that by selecting it and then "install".

Your done and you have finally completed all the steps needed to "jailbreak" your ipod and you can now install *ahem ahem* apps into your ipod touch 2g. Any questions do feel free to ask i will be there to assist.

I got to school at about 1pm the afternoon and met Rina and some other friends along the way, Christopher was there too! and didn't do much stuff besides a little of my assignment cuz anyway the dateline's been extended till monday so there's still some time to work on it. Met Mum and Dad after my study time and went to the IT show at Suntec. Crowded like crap! So we checked out Singtel cause dad wanted to get a 15mbps mio home connection and really thanks to mum, she bought dad and myself each a 16gb ipod touch and here's some pics of it. Thanks mum once again :)

1st day of holiday

Got up at 9 today from a call from my lecturer cuz i was supposed to meet him at 9 sharp but i was late! So i woke up, got ready, had a quick breakfast and rushed to school, and reached there by about 1o odd or so. So its mainly cause i need to hand in my donation card to him as well as to meet my JSPG lecturer, Lincoln to clear some of my doubts for my assignments. I didn't so its so easy! Gosh...

So at the same time, met a friend to collect back my games and later meeting up with another bunch of mates to pass them a copy of my sims 3, met Eugene along the way with his classmates so i asked if he'd like to have lunch together so yeah we met later at FC5. Guessed what! I saw her at last. haha Eugene! *Raise Eyebrows*

Passed WaiKuong my Sims 3 and helped him with the installer, Met Param, XinYi and PooSiang! HAHA what a coincidence meeting everyone at FC5 its like a standard hangout for us all!

And Corrine was doing her assignments with her group mates so i waited for her before we headed to Orchard. We had a great day together cuz Khaz, Imah and Corrine's friend James Quek Came along! He's a nice chap somewhere 5 foot tall. And yes, Fareast as usual. Didn't shop much since we lug along our notebooks its so irritating. We'll head there again another time empty handed just wallet and cellphone will do! omg Juyee do come along! LOLOL! Sadly Eugene couldn't tag along :(

June 6th. A day worth remembering

65 years has passed since the day the tide of the battle changes. Most of us, including me would know how special June 6th is and every year, war veterans around the world would gather in Normandy, France so commemorate this event that took place . The day the allied invasion in western Europe begun and it is the biggest seaborne assault in history. Codenamed D-Day and led by the allied supreme commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, About 155,000 US, British and Canadian forces launched a full scale assault on the coasts of Normandy, landing on 5 beaches codenamed Utan, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. Allied soldiers quickly break through the Atlantic wall and push inland and before the landings started, Normandy was heavily bombarded by the RAF, where intensive attacks took place on known enemy batteries along the entire invasion coast. Just shortly before H Hour, medium bombers of the Ninth Air Force dropped several hundred tons of bombs on enemy defenses at Utah Beach in support of the seaborne assault. Between these bombings, however, came the still more telling attacks by airborne infantry.It was the largest use of airborne troops up to that time.

Paratroop elements of the 82d and 101st Divisions, comprising 6 regiments, with the normal complement of parachute field artillery and engineers, numbering more than 13,000 men, were flown from bases in southern England to the Cotentin Peninsula in approximately 925 C-47's. An additional 4,000 men, consisting of glider infantry with supporting weapons and medical and signal units, were to arrive in 500 gliders later on D Day and on D plus 1 to reinforce the paratroops. Seaborne echelons were to join the divisions on D plus 1. To the parachute troops was assigned what was probably the most difficult task of the initial operation—a night jump behind enemy lines five hours before the coastal landings.

The 101st Airborne Division Lands

At 2215 on D minus 1, 432 C-47's began taking off from 7 departure airdromes in England, with 6,600 paratroops of the 101st Airborne Division. They were scheduled to begin dropping at H minus s hours. At dawn (H minus 2 hours) they were to be reinforced by approximately 150 glider troops from 51 gliders, and at dusk (H plus 15 hours) by an additional 165 in 32 gliders. Preceding the main echelons of paratroops by half an hour were 20 pathfinder aircraft which had the mission of marking six drop zones (for both divisions) and one landing zone. Marking of the zones was not entirely successful, but all of the pathfinder teams carried out at least part of their Paratroop echelons approached the Cotentin from the west and made their landfall in the vicinity of les Pieux (Map No. 2). Formations were tight until reaching the coast, but from the coast to the Merderet cloud banks loosened the formations, and east of the Merderet flak scattered them further. In general the division did not have a good drop, although better than that of the 82d Airborne Division (Map V). About 1,500 troops were either killed or captured and approximately 60 percent of the equipment dropped was lost when the bundles fell into swamps or into fields covered by enemy fire. Only a fraction of the division's organized strength could initially be employed on the planned missions, and many of the missions carried out were undertaken by mixed groups which did not correspond with original assignments.The fifty-one Waco gliders, carrying command personnel and antitank weapons, came in early on D-Day morning. This type of landing had never been attempted before in darkness. Many gliders were wrecked as they landed in the small Normandy fields and there as damage to equipment and loss of personnel, one of the casualties being Brig. Gen. Don F. Pratt (Assistant Commander, 101st Airborne Division), who was killed in landing. In general, however, losses were not excessive and the mission was a success. Later in the day, at 2100, the serial of thirty-two Horsa gliders—carrying command, communications, and medical personnel and equipment—suffered heavier losses in personnel and gliders because of the unsuitability of the small landing fields. Equipment suffered relatively little damage. A seaborne echelon of the division, including the 3 27th Glider Infantry, joined the division on D plus 1.The initial widespread dispersion of the 101st Division was not an unmixed evil. The Germans appear to have been confused by the scattered drops. For some time they were unable to estimate the magnitude of the invasion and, in consequence, reaction was slow and uncertain. The war diary of the German Seventh Army noted at 0130, 6 June, reports of Allied paratroop landings east and northwest of Caen, at St. Maricove, at Montebourg, on both sides of the Vire River, and on the east coast of the Cotentin Peninsula. Fighting was reported at le Ham. For several hours the German command was uncertain whether the landings represented a major action. At 0400 it was estimated that the American plan seemed to be to “tie off the Cotentin Peninsula at its narrowest point.”

Uncertainty at the enemy command level seemed to have been duplicated among the subordinate units. It was generally the experience of the 101st Airborne Division, at least, that although the enemy defended freely with fire he was initially reluctant to move out of his prepared defenses to attack. When attacks were launched they were seldom pushed vigorously. Thus in some measure the enemy's confusion tended to offset that of the invaders and, by dint of considerable improvisation, the 101st was able to accomplish most of its initial missions.

The plan of the 101st Airborne Division called for the seizure of the four inland exits—the western ends of causeways-from the inundated area west of Utah Beach between St. Martin-de-Varreville and Pouppeville (Map II). In the southern part of the division's sector two bridges across the Douve River, on the main highway northwest of Carentan and the railroad bridge to the west, were to be destroyed. In addition, the division was to seize and hold the la Barquette lock and establish two bridgeheads over the Douve at le Port northeast of Carentan. The sum of these missions thus provided for the clearing of the enemy's secondary beach defenses and the organization of the Corps' southern flank for defense and further exploitation. After being relieved in the beachhead area by the 4th Division, the 101st was to seize Carentan and establish contact with V Corps, fusing the Utah and Omaha beachheads. Thereafter the 101st Airborne Division was ordered to protect the southern flank of VII Corps east of the Merderet River. The division would be reinforced by the attachment of a company of tanks of the 70th Tank Battalion, the 65th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, and a troop of the 4th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron when these were landed by sea.

Param's Birthday at OCH (Old Changi Hospital)

I thought of an idea of birthdays at OCH so i told Param why not lets try having a little celebration there for fun and excitement. So you know Me, Param and Marina decided to go there that evening after 1 week of plans at first there were more guys including, Eugene, Raam, Anna, Jon, Ben and a few others but they couldn't make it that evening :(

So we met at Tampines at about 11pm plus only to realize that we missed the last bus (29) to changi so we decided to take a cab down i wanted to tell the taxi driver take us to OCH but he's gonna freak out if so cuz were like, asking him to bring us there in the middle of the night. We brought a lil slice of cake for offering and a candle along with it. First stop was changi Village we had our supper, chat a while and stuff before walking over to OCH.

We reached there after a few mins walk, waited at the bus stop, took my m4 carbine out, param took my m8000 cougar along with him, a torch for marina and we walked in just like that. I was hoping we would be alone that night but damn... There were like a whole bunch of other people there as well, if i remembered there's like a total of 8 groups and 10 guys per group walking randomly around the place its like it totally defeats the purpose of getting freaked out in the middle of the night. But it was wonderful. We climbed over to the roof of och on the upper floors and took pictures and rendezvous with one of the group there. They were a friendly bunch and we are like the only group with only 3 peeps LOL. So we took random images of some of the places we think looks rather cool! Me and Param simply loved the idea of sneaking around with a carbine and a pistol its just so fucking awesome!

Then after about 3 hours there we decided to sing a birthday song to Param and we left the place and headed for Changi Village hawker center to have a drink. Were so fuken shagged and we decided to look for cardboard and lay them on the ground and we take a short nap before dawn breaks in. But ended up having a chat with some of the people there and a homeless man he's really friendly and ended up chatting for like an hour plus. Were talking about whats life is if we hadn't got a job and staying off the streets though it sucked but i seriously admire his will to live. Hope were gonna chance upon him some time our next visit to och. So we left and took bus 2 to tanah merah and off for a trainie back home. Slept for the whole day when i got back! hahas

Barrett M82A1

One of the most feared modern firearm is a .50 calibre semi-auto sniper rifle. The Barrett M82. This rifle, mainly used by the military as a weapon to take down strategic enemy radar or to stop a moving target such as a vehicle. With its enormous punch, a well placed shot could easily stop a vehicle. Have you wondered what would happen if it was shot at a human body? Well... Lets see..

At 1000 yrds the bullet is gonna have more power than a .44 magnum pointing blank range. Like in movies you'll see blood effects splashing out of the back of the head. However, at that distance the bullet will come down directly on top of you, due to the trajectory, your basically lobbing a bullet up and back down. Here's the graphic part. The hydrostatic shock that follows the bullet will be so powerful it will peel you apart like tearing a banana. You would have limbs flying 20 ft in all directions. So technically it destroys you at that instance and it would be pretty much like a grenade effect from 5 ft away. If there were to be a funeral for your body it would be a closed casket assuming you can find all the parts. =D If you've seen RamboIV the movie, he'd get on the .50 machine gun, blowing heads off and stuff so technically that would be rather accurate if its done in real situation but from a farther distance it would be catastrophic. you realize that a .50 is also used against light armoured vehicles and targets through concrete walls. So as far as power concerns, inside this barrett .50 cal round it's probably the most powerful machine gun and sniper rifle you'll ever combine.

The Barret M82 is a semi auto light .50 cal. most snipers of that cal are a bolt but the barret is a remarkable gun for the technology, semi autos tend to be less accurate than bolt. but i know that the M82 can take a lethal shot from beyond 1740yds cold bore.
Watch this video on how this guy fires his M82A1 and later at the end of the video sees how it yanks off the 40lb steel plate from the pole. The sound of it is simply epic! I would want to fire one of this guns when i;m still alive. =D

Barrett M468 review

Although its old news from a couple of years back i would like to share a short review to promote Barrett. Barrett [of Murfreesboro, TN] which was previously producing only 50 cal BMG rifles, is now one of the first manufacturers to offer a rifle chambered for the Remington 6.8mm SPC cartridge. This 6.8mm lies between the 5.56 Nato round used in the M16 and the 7.62 round used on the ak. However, this round packs a punch which i will go into a detailed explanation later. Barrett, currently promoting it for their law enforcements and military use is now selling a civilian version (the M468 with semiauto only and fixed stock), saying it "opens new hunting opportunities in states where the 5.56 is too small for larger game."

The rifle

Barrett's M468 (the name derived from M4 and 6.8) is a virtual clone of the Mk-12 Variant "Recce" (a Navy Seal designation). It's an M4 rifle made in both selective-fire (for military or law enforcement) and semi-automatic-only versions (for the general public).

Like the "Recce" rifle, the M468 uses the mid-length (piston) gas system developed by Mr. Mark Westrom, of ArmaLite. The M468-A1 comes equipped with the A.R.M.S. Mid-Length Selective Integrated Rail (S.I.R.) System and #40-A low Profile front Sight. The M468-A1 also uses the SOPMOD Folding Front Sight from Precision Reflex, Inc. along with PRI's new 6.8mm magazine.

The M468 has a muzzle brake and suppressor mounting threads just in front of the front sight. With the suppressor, the report was much like a .22 short.

Barrel length is 16 inches (6 groove, 1-in-10 RHT). Barrels are match grade. Overall length is 35.5 inches for the civilian semi-automatic with fixed synthetic stock. The LE version's stock can be collapsed to reduce overall length to 32 inches.

According to the web page; 5, 10, and 28-round magazines are available. [The article mentions a 26-round PRI magazine.]

The rifle weighs 7.3 lbs., according to the web page, with no accessories. [The article says 7.5 lbs.].

The 6.8mm SPC round

Whether the 6.8mm Special Purpose Cartridge (SPC) will ever be used by the military remains in doubt. Johnston says "the enemies of the project are coming out like insects from the woodwork."

The 6.8mm SPC was a grass-roots initiative originating in the Special Forces, 5th Group - Airborne, and the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU). It is based on the obsolete .30 Remington case. It may be the victim of "not invented here" thinking by military program managers.

[While XM8s with 6.8mm barrels have been tested, it seems more likely the standard issue XM8, if adopted as the replacement for the M16/4 family of rifles, will be chambered for 5.56mm. The military is currently scrambling to set up larger 5.56mm contracts, as the next post notes.]

Johnston feels the round is here to stay for LE and civilian use.

Johnston claims the 6.8mm SPC "out shoots" the 7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, 5.56x45mm, and 6.5mm Grendel; but the article offers no data to substantiate this claim in this article. Perhaps he did in his 2-part story in the March and April issues of SOF.

I know some people who would take issue with the assertion the 6.8mm SPC is superior to the Grendel -- especially at longer ranges. See this earlier ACE post.

Johnston says the cartridge fires a 115-grain Hornady Match or Sierra Match .270 caliber bullet at 2600fps from a 16-inch barrel M16-type rifle, and has the same trajectory as the M118 7.62mm NATO Match cartridge.

Ammo availability

Remington sells the 6.8mm SPC now (Johnston says it cannot make it fast enough), and Hornady and Federal will soon offer it. Other manufacturers, such as Winchester and Wolf, are considering offering it.

Magazines

Some AR-15 magazines will feed 6.8mmm SPC satisfactorily for practice, and there may soon be a program to modify AR-15 magazines to reliably feed either 5.56mm or 6.8mm cartridges.

Barrels

All chamber reamer manufacturers now have 6.8mm chamber reamers, and most major barrel manufacturers will have 6.8mm 1-in-10 inch twist match-grade barrels available.

Accuracy

Firing was limited to 25 yards, so no accuracy data was obtained. Johnston expects 1 MOA accuracy, equivalent to a PRI 6.8mm rifle he has fired.

Optics

The demo rifles at Las Vegas sported the Trijicon ACOG sight, the Eotech Military/Police Reflex sight, the Aimpoint Comp M2, and a Leupold sight (to signify the rifle can be used for sharpshooting).

Range

Johnston quotes the effective range (for terminal incapacitation) as 600+ yards.

What ever he teach just sinks in my head (no matter how friggin tired i am). yeah and i'm like, sitting in the club room with a couple of mates were just chilling out here Param's gonna meet me l8r at 1pm and WeiKiat's coming along. Might meet Corrine at 3 and i wanna go Bugis! its been a while since i've been there to shop around. hahas

It would also probably be the most interesting "specie" of human beings i've met on Earth! why? you would spread your "disease" to other unsuspecting victim, turning them into your own kind. Wow doesn't that sound like a deadly pest? Looks like its time to invite the local sanitizing unit down to get rid of these pests. hahaha! I remembered how life was when i was younger. I was born in Tampines Street 42, I could still remember the HDB mansionette which i used to live in for a couple of years before we moved to a condominium at Mariam Way. I loved the life there as it was back then. There were like 3 bedrooms on the upper floor and it runs along a corridor before leading to a flight of stairs to my hall. Its a huge elongated hall which stretches the dining area to the living room. From young, my parents used to emply a domestic helper to help us with house work and stuff when my siblings were still studying and i was like 4-5 years old.

So when we moved to Mariam Way life changed, Seemed rather monotone at first cause i missed my neighbours. Especially Bryan and Loraine. Till today.. we kinda lost contact cuz they migrated to Perth. So its like, life sucks for sure now that i know they were gone. So i made new friends there, there's Daryl and Nickholas living just on my left, Bryan, Benjamine and another living on the 8th. Were fun guys at first when things got nasty when we started sneaking off each other's pokemon cards, well those were the days i swear to you. hahas sneaky lil bastards innit? LOL. So i used to swim a lot cause we had a swimming pool, and its where i learnt how to swim. The depth goes as deep as 1.8 metres but i used to be around 1.7m plus or so i cant remember i had to tip toe to get my head off the surface of the water. So i stayed around the 1.4m section to be safe lmao.

During the construction of another convo just beside ours. An event took place. Its something not many would know about and it was classified, wasn't in the news though. There's like a 13 foot long 5 foot tall bomb found just half a klick away from my block, along the field by the side road which leads in the construction site. Called the army, extraction unit and the police, there's like a whole company of men down there the extraction point. They dug a pretty deep trench, enclosed the bomb (its a world war 2 armed bomb which probably failed to go boom!) in it and fill the trench with dirt. A couple of mins later it went BOOM! Freaking loud, somewhat like those you see in a movie just the dirt don't go flying sky high. Pretty much it. Dad took a vid of it i see if i could find it in the archive i'll put it here.

Played lots of Squash and sometimes Tennis with a couple of mates and i remembered how i got trashed badly by my bro-in-law when we played squash. dad joined in too if i remembered well that was a couple of years back so yeah memories do get washed off. Then DAD decided to buy another house this time in the Central so we bought one in Geylang. Those of you who doesn't know about property probably gonna think that Geylang's a crap place to live in. Its a 15 min journey to town and you tell me its a crap place? =P hahas no offence but yeah i love that place its where i'm living now. So we rented out our condo and moved to Geylang instead. its where i'm living now. lovely!

New Life.

I guess its time i leave DMIT club for good. I have done my part as a Group Leader and tried my best to be one, now that the freshmen Orientation Reunion is over, its time i let go of everything. I see no point staying since i see not much liking in me. I had a great time knowing a bunch of seniors, Ferguson, Ikhwan, Farhana, Rain, Ian just to name a few. its thanks to them i am what i am today. However, its just i don't feel the warmness in the club which somehow irks me, i feel disturbed, insecure cause i know there are people who dislike my presence. its pretty obvious though. Besides, i'm not hard up for friends i've been trained up to work alone. And for your information. A mistake is not a mistake unless its been pointed out. :)

Uh and thanks Param now that i'm in SP photographers really enjoyed hanging out with your bunch of friends they were awesome! I've also decided to go back to Jap Culture Club though thought its a good chance to meet some old buddies. See you guys during the cca camp! hahahas

Stuff i did these few days

Well i missed class on tuesday so i decided to pop by Black Technology to get an ACOG scope from them only to find out that there's only 3 left so i said i'll come back the next day cause i forgot to bring my atm card. But... its all sold out the next day i came by. omg man! Thats not the thing. Even the reflex sights, EOTechs are all sold out too. so i'll have to wait till the next stock arrive i'll be able to buy one for my m4 carbine. I've decided to get the side mount to place my torch on it and i got myself a rifle sling too. It took me a while to figure how i'd tie it from the butt to the muzzle. heh!

Here's some pics of it...
I'm gonna attach the pressure pad for the laser to the forward hand grip soon so it wouldn't just hang loose like that. now this thing weighs almost 3/4 the weight of the original thing. (look at my almost complete spud cannon just near the fire extinguisher and a double barrel shotgun which i bought back in those days when we went to Knotts Berry Farm in America. Its a replica so don't expect it to be real. well i wished i could own my own set of firearms what a waste i'm Asian...

So today went out with Corrine and her friends to celebrate someone's birthday and there khaz came along too! her friends were just as crazy as her! hahas and seriously had fun hanging out with them i don't mind seeing them anytime soon though! We went Plaza Sing, hanged out for a while before having dinner at KFC, and they had to leave soon, so i went shopping by myself walking around. its been a while since i been to Plaza Sing though.

And earlier today, was stressed with my assignments again. I promised Jovina i'll do the DEUI assignment on my own cause i cant handle DSAL so i had to leave most of the coding to her. I can tell that she's stressed too. I believe were all working hard for good grades we just have to endure since holidays were just around the corner. And my record was 3 cans of coke zero in just 30 mins while was doing my report writing.

Neutron Stars: Billions of Times Stronger Than Steel!

A new computer simulation on the core of neutron stars has revealed that they are indeed extremely dense and is probably 10 billion times stronger that the toughest steel that we know of today. Whats more fascinating is that the surface of the neutron stars can actually generate gravitational (gravity?) waves. Does that mean gravitons are possible to exist? O.o

That incredible strength also means that when neutron stars form they can tolerate some imperfections on their surfaces. In this case, such imperfections can be mountain-sized bumps as heavy as Earth. As those bumps ride the fast-spinning stars, their mass disturbs spacetime enough to generate gravity waves, the simulations by Horowitz and Kadau show. First predicted by Albert Einstein, the waves are disruptions that radiate through the very fabric of spacetime. They travel as fast as light and can stretch every atom they encounter. Scientists have deployed new instruments in recent years in an attempt to observe the waves, but so far they have remained elusive.

Events coming up this 2009

I'll be organizing a few events up for DMIT club as well as for my other friends so i thought i'd share some of my beta plans hopefully i would get some comments from it. Alright first stop, June holidays. What were gonna have then.

#1: purely Overnight cycling at ECP which covers a total distance of 36 km which starts from ECP and ends at Changi Village. Date to be confirmed. Route will be drawn as soon as this outing plan goes broadcast level.

#2: Barbecue at ECP mainly for my ex-stomp friends to sort of bring everyone back. Somewhere towards the end of june. will be planning with Pearson.

#3: A visit to Old Changi Hospital and i'll be planning the route to be taken in the hospital. max number of people to be expected. 50 pax. Careful plans and equipments will be needed and its gonna be a must have event this year :D I'm looking forward to it.

#4: Pool/Billards outing at orchard: Lucky Plaza and this will be anytime during the weekends.

Omg after so long using the default skins from blogger I've decided to make a change! Sorry its a weebit gay but i just love pink! RIGHT CORRINE? LOLS now i'll just need to add some javascripts to make this blog a lil more eyecandy. (Due to its so boring stuff it has in it...) I shall keep ya all updated yeah?

And uh.. once again, i was late for class today. And just right after the first class this morning i had a great chat with Jovina and Moe and i was just showing them some of the greatest inventions that were present in the 21st century as well as some of my interests i had when i was younger. They were totally amazed and yeah i mean, i shouldn't be living here after all. I should have been living in the states instead.

Right after class head for lunch to kfc and met a bunch of random mates so decided to have a lil chat with them. And thanks Corrine and JunHao for today... you guys were my savious and i really appreciate such friends around. :) Thanks once again... I felt much better. I've already decided. I shall put everything aside and concentrate on my studies instead! Friends are also better than nothing ;) And omg we camwhored like crazy! hahah!

I was late for my first module again and lucky its DEUI(Design User Interface) where were using flash to create animations and other things we'll be learning soon. Thankfully it wasn't the day that we're officially starting off actionscript3.0. I haven't learnt that before and i don't wanna miss the basics.

And despite how bloody sleepy i was, when i was in the train earlier when i left school i gave up my seat for a pregnant woman, cause some dimwits (foreign asians) who were just sitting opposite her didn't even let off their seats. What a graceful society we asians are brought up in. Maybe a little generalizing but this is a fact.

I'm so sorry that i didn't talk to you much these few days and you thought i was emotional... After i reflected on it i just realize i made you upset and uneasy about it. i do feel, i should treat you better and be someone you could count on to protect you as, i haven't been doing enough for you.. I could have done better... :) Did you know, that when you were crying just today, Its only after a while that i realize cause i wasn't by your side when it happened. It hurts me a lot after i found out and to the point i cried a little after a few of them informed me about the situation.

So i told myself, i must be there for you. so i waited. Of course, i did some of my Java assignment along and had a great chat with my friend who was with me. Well uh i was about 15 mins late for class today and guess what? Advance Java... Brilliant... So well, thats not the whole point, i slept during nma (Networking Management and Adminstration) practical class so i've missed much of the 2nd chapter's hands on vm workstation. After class was supposed to meet James and YanTing to discuss about FOR's stuff but i had to go ComTech to settle some nonsense from my pc. met Someone and her friends along the way. Was supposed to accompany Someone home but i told her i had to leave with Vera instead cause were gonna have a spongebob outing somewhat later this evening so cause of that, felt kinda bad.. sorry dear? LOL

Spongebob! There were a bunch of us cept Alexia and YanLin, Even Nanny(WeiRong) and ArmyBoy (Ferguson) was there lah and i was quite happy with that. ^^ So we went off to Esplanade to have our dinner at makansutra, didn't had the whole evening to chat cause were gonna go school the next day so we left by 9. Today's a great day though i was like, so sleepy and moody. later

I'd still remember the day just before term ended, Bruce was going around looking for helpers to help in the upcoming 2009 Freshman Orientation camp. Some of my classmates were gonna help out but they were all under welfare dept in the club that includes me. So somewhere after a month or so Bruce asked if i wanted to be a Group Leader instead. i was really hesitant cause i felt i wasn't mentally prepared to lead a group yet, that excludes being physically strong. So about a week or so i told Bruce, yeah alright i'll be a gl instead. So LiHuang placed me as a gl instead. It was then on i started to eventually like the club and go for frequent meetings and stuff.

Eventually, us gls had to undergo certain trainings to get us prepared for the actual FO camp and i was glad i actually lived through it. But well through my journeys i've also kept stuff which i wasn't so pleased about all to myself so i thought i would share them on my blog tonight. So those of you who has read it and was mentioned in my blog, i hold no grudges on you though.

The prep camp was definitely the best chances to actually do my observations and stuff and of course nature still proved me right. I agree that all of us gls have worked together as a group to achieve the standard of what we are today. But when Ikhwan and Ferguson asked if you guys are together. I hear a hesitant yes. Is that really a yes or no? Are you all willing to die for one another? Me, even as a gl, i would say the answer is no. Why? fairly simple. You guys aren't really prepared to work with people you dislike. And as a GL, you must learn to be flexible and work with all sorts of people. if not, you fail as one. i know some of you don't fancy someone that much maybe cause that person is probably both mentally and physically weak or what i don't know. But if thats the reason all the more you guys should help her and not shun her off. And if its because of her character, thats disappointing. Please prove me wrong (:

Secondly, what pokes me off is when there are poeple who'd laugh over someone else's ghost stories. (not pinpointing ;] ) Whats worse is you did it behind his back. What kind of respect is this? How will you feel if someone does that to you? if you think it sucks and is totally lame. Please just keep it to yourself cause sharing it with others and laughing over it is just plain child like. once again if you guys felt insulted i have to apologize cause i'm a very direct person and i speak whats in my mind. Here's what i feel about working with you throughout these few months.

Theresa: There might be times your a wee bit nasty and sulky on your attitude but in terms of your personality i know your a good person. I'm sure you have worked really hard to be a GL.

Ethel: At times you might be down and i remembered the other time you were really sick and piss'd with us when were learning the dance steps cuz were like, yakking away. I envied your perseverance. other than that, i haven't really take notice on you much though.

Del: I actually thought you didn't like me cause i was partnering with V and you were jealous or something; But you were pretty much like the kid from the backyard kinda person which is cool! Well at least you could socialize with almost anyone.

Leo: he's actually a nice person, pretty lame at times, packed with jokes and stuff i have to admit i love listening to them, but there's something i dislike about you which is your bad temper. Its proabably that, i'm starting to talk less to you, i don't know. And if you dislike a person, it gets really obvious cause of your tone.

Vera: I found her the most approachable person you guys can ever find. Its probably cause of her nature and her attitude its definitely positive. Well i tried being an ass to her sometimes but i failed to make her pissed. she's a nice person i'd say.

Alvin Lim: This is tough. The first time i saw him, 2 words came up to my mind. "Ah Beng" I thought he was a By-Himself-All-The-Time kinda person but he's actually very sociable and friendly which really surprised me. Anyway, you did pretty well as a GL.

Ferguson: I actually didn't like him in the beginning cause i thought he was an ass and planned all that sick PT for us but in the end of the day i appreciated it. He's sense on humor was towards the military style and i like the way he does things. its probably cause he's a practical person but he's definitely someone i would salute to.

Ikhwan: I respect him for one reason. The time to be serious and the time to fool around and play. Its a crucial thing for leaders to know whens the time for everything. He excels both academically and as a leader which shocks me to my very soul. Its rare to find such people but we have 1 in DMIT. which is him.

Freshman Orientation 0910

Well i’ve just gotten back from my school’s Freshman orientation camp 0910 and it was both tiring and awesome experience i’ve had throughout the 4 days 3 nights of camp in school. I loved my freshies very much! Well they are awesome! All thanks to the help of our seniors, Organizing Commitees as well as the Game Personnels and Group Leaders like me which made this camp possible and everyone loved it! Be it a competitive camp where groups battle against each other to be the best team naming; Coconut, D Cups, Spongebob, Botak, Mcbirds, Parang, Madegascar, Carnage. Were still together to the end of the day! To all those who missed the camp, you have missed all the fun!

Here’s what we did throughout the 4 days of camp!

::D-Day -2: 4th April (Saturday)::

At 8pm i started packing my stuff cause i was informed of a last minute message that we GLs and GPs are supposed to report to school on Sunday which is the following day to prepare stuff for the actual camp date, 6th April. I was chatting with Vera on that night asked if she packed her stuff and random stuff about being excited about the camp.I swear i couldn’t sleep and was too excited to see my juniors.

::D-Day -1:5th April (Sunday)::

Reported to school at about 2 cause i got a message from Delconi that we are gonna have dance lesson at 3pm this afternoon so i went early. I got my haircut on that day and bought a pair of slippers it was pretty last minute though. I met up with a bunch of GPs cause i saw no GLs in school so i left my stuff in their bunk first. Did some last preparation and dance practice and we didn’t sleep much on that day cause were camping out at the T19 3rd Storey where we slept on the benches. its difficult to sleep there. Imagine mosquitoes + Hard Surface + Bright light just over your head. I slept for 2 hours in the end.

::Day 1: 6th April (Monday)::

Woke up at 9am, took a shower and got ready to welcome the freshies at about 2pm when we gathered them at the foyer at T19. Started to introduce ourselves to the freshies at FC6 cause of bad weather that afternoon. Broke them up into groups and started ice breaking games with them as well as taught them some songs. My group the girls weren’t that quiet i know from the start Alexia and Peiwen would hype the whole group up without the work of me and Vera. LOL! But the guys were pretty quiet on the first day and were clinging to themselves. Nobody knows that Ferguson was a catalyst in our group and i kept laughing when i see him trying to act as a freshie. (But he did pretty well!)

We made our shield on that night and it was SPONGE BOB! Yeah thats our team name! it was night walk that evening and i was a scarer at T19 one of the lift with James. I managed to make a few of them scream their wits off but i got molested by some dude touching the black cloth i couldn’t say anything or else it won’t be fun i gould have said “GTFO”! lmao!

::Day 2: 7th April (Tuesday)::

Started off very flipping early in the morning i think was 6+ am if i remembered and had only 1-2 hours of sleep. i was damn tired but i tried not to show it to my group or else i would appear as a weakling i’m supposed to encourage them to endure. The highlights on that day was the Amazing Race that we had and our team left first cause we did well with our cheers; it was loud and clear and we left together with botak team led by James and yan Ting. We had our face painted on that day before we left school for Bugis as our first checkpoint outside school. Having painted faces certainly attracted the eyes of the public lmao! Bugis was definitely embarassing as we sang a song so loud everyone looked at us but who cares! we are shameless! hahhahs! A few caucasians took photos of us though so we smiled at them. We merged with Botak thoughtout the Amazing race and we worked together before ending out last station at Far East Plaza. The station at HMV was blowing condoms till it burst of course the guys didn’t have problems but the girls were a little reluctant but in the end it ended with lots of laughs. it was really epic!

And we went back to school for dinner and prepared ourselves for campfire and we made a skit along with it. it was actually a song which i forgot the lyrics The campfire, No its a fan blown “fire” cause we cant have real fire setting off in school thats pretty sad on that day most of us lost our voice. Except me i dunno why. LOL! right after Campfire was Battle Royale and it was quite a failure. First, we left for moberly and we saw devils there, so we walked back to the starting point at SAC to approach a station and we sung a song to them at we got light sticks from them! next we took a detour to sector 3 on the map where we found out that the map was a wrong one and thesector was closed. meaning that a bunch of devils are around to ambush us anytime. I led the team and we ran up to T17 to t15 and we got pinned at lv4. At first i brought them to FC4 and grabbed a few lightsticks when Ferguson said he saw a few devils coming our way and that, we backed off. we ran like mad and saw mcbirds also at lv3. At that time 2 groups were together for a short while before we split up and eventually got caught by devils and lost a few lightsticks.

::Day 3: 8th April (Wednesday)::

Sentosa outing! Woke up pretty early and again didn’t have much sleep so was physically tired but mentally strong and took my group for a quick shower. We reached there and Quiditch on a friendly match before we started with our station games there. Run like mad whats pissing me off is the sands on my feet when i wear my slippers. Other than that, we all enjoyed the outing. Sung camp songs and stuff. We didn’t complete 2 more stations cause we stopped earlier to take a shower before leaving. Damn tired until slept in the bus. The girls in my group damn funny lah! when i sleep they kept pushing my head cause i slept until like going to fall off the chair. LOL! talked with Nicholas about programming and stuff along the way and tell him whats all about poly life.

After dinner, Shim night LOL! where we choose guys to dress up as girls omfg HanFeng look damn chio as a girl sia! And Shi hui, the mamasan, see her also uber chio! Wasted didn’t get to see the whole even we GLs had to practice for the dance later that evening.

The night ended up with disco and i danced for 2 hours before going back to bunk with Alvin to rest. We were really dead tired already. And we slept at about 4am till the next day 6am waking up slightly later than the planned time so everything was pushed back an hour.

::Day 4: 9th April (Thursday)

Grats to Alexia for winning the best camper award in our group! Well in fact today was quite a sad day for us all its like we are going to miss each other. The camp was then over. We had a photoshoot with everyone in the scene and a Debrief till 8pm before the GLs went for dinner. I couldn’t join them cause i had to go home and like, sleep. LOL i was too tired that evening. Went home, chat with a few campers before knocking out at 1am and waking up the next day at 3.30pm.

Singapore's national Anthem? Should we change?

I have been wondering for a few months, Should we, Singapore, have a change in our national Anthem? I'm not criticizing on it but its rather awkward in a sense which I'll mention later. I know that Singapore used to be a Malay fishing village before the Brits took over (colonized) Singapore. And when the Japanese too over we sung their anthem, now we have Majulah Singapura composed by Zubir Said, in 1958. Ok here's the thing, I love the tune and music along with it, but to be honest, i think it should be sung in English instead, why? cause were no longer part of malaya and due to the significant growth of English Speakers (This includes the Chinese Indian, Malays and other ethnic groups), I guess its time we revised our national anthem. To me, its something like the Belgium singing in French and the Poles singing in Russian.

Definitely not a good year in 2009 but i'm sure the economy would catch up by 2010, if it isn't for family and stuff i wouldn't be bothered with celebrating; managed to get around 300 bucks off the red packets i've gotten while visiting, not too much though but i'm gonna save em' up for some good use later. So whats my new year resolution? "Hope she'll get herpes off a willy and die from it." Yeah i was serious about that. Just before cny i got pissed over some lads who were talking bout me well not lads but just someone. I was thinking, its been about 3 years or so yet she couldn't get over with it( i'll explain later). she, along with a few others were in a mass conversation, so she said she hates me and that she said i was a despo (i know whats going on). So when i knew about it i was like "whut>? da bitch's bitching again!" So i asked to "get into the conversation" to check whats going on. So yeah finally i was added in and i said "So been talking about me huh? who's that fucker?".

And it all started there and she brought back all the past thinking that she could take the mickey out of me. Well i don't think its that simple she's probably just lonely and seeking for some attention. It was late in the evening when it all started. I was like, damn whats with all these bickering cant you get over it its been 3 years since we broke up. She said i sucked and was ugly and that no girl would want me for that. I was like "Geez sif you were fucking gorgeous lmao". I was actually thinking, " Damn i was so bloody blind when i was 3 years younger if i knew i would rather date a donkey". She broke up with me back then cause i was going after 2 other girls so she got jealous about it. When i first knew her i thought she would be a nice, demure and quiet sheila but hell it was the opposite. And to fuck it all up, she's hell emotional and i hate such people cause it's plain stupid. Going back to the topic of the 2 girls, yeah i bet she bad mouthed me to the them. I knew ashie was into this he's quite a twat too so sod it ive blocked and deleted him off messenger though. Whats more, a bunch of coward pricks who doesn't stand up to the problem and take sides, i hate friends who simply couldn't decide rights and wrongs. She started it all and she'll better be the one to apologize. i'm not someone who hold grudges but i will if you cross the line. I'm sure i'll forgive her so long as i get an apology. Thats what i promised a friend but lets see how this turns out.

damn pompholyx skin itch

well just today was on my com checking on the net. Just a while later i saw lil bubbles growing on the top of my right fingers just slightly near the knuckles. I swear it itch like mad. So what i did was, i got myself a sterile needle and poke on the bubbles and there were colorless fluids coming out from them and it still itch, so i scratched till there were wounds on it. It still itch... I got really pissed and took the nail polish removal, poured it on a sterile gauze and place it over the "bubbles" (its later known as pompholyx). Bloody hell! NOW IT HURT LIKE SHIT! and i place the gauze over it for like a minute and i was like "DAMNIT SHIT OUCH!" LOL!

532nm laser testing

Just a few days back i was playing around with my 532nm green DPSS semiconductor laser which i got for a few tenners well its pretty cheap as compared to the one which i'll be getting in a few months which i'm gonna share with you guys. Well basically this laser has a power output of 10mW so it leaves a beam of laser light along with it. It has a low beam divergence of 0.1mrad(mili radians) Here's some of the videos which i took when i played around with it. Its capable of reaching 10 miles so your definitely attracting much of an attention from far.

So i'm gonna share with you some knowledge about lasers. a 532nm refers to the wavelength of visible light. so for this, its green. The reason why green would appear much more brilliant is cause it falls in the middle of the visible light spectrum, and our eyes are much more sensitive to capturing wavelengths of approximately 500nm-600nm.

The normal pen lasers you see around lecture halls are red InGaAlP semiconductor laser and they are of wavelength 635-660nm. and they are most probably class 1 or 2 laser and the power output is about 1mW or so if i remembered. The one i got is a class3B and is <50mW.

About the earlier part which i was mentioning about getting another laser module. Its actually the hulk ultra 400mW green laser and its gonna cost me a whopping 1000 USD. Until i figured out how to fixed a diode to a aixiz laser housing and getting diodes out of dvd burners, i'll stick to buying one for now. I was planning to take apart a blu ray player if i ever got to grab hold of it trust me, its gonna be worth the effort if you'd managed to diy a blu ray laser diode :P

LHC - Brief Introduction

Well have you all heard of particle accelerators? I bet most of you do and the next thing is, where are they located?
There are a few operating ones today which ranges from linear accelerators to circular ones which spans several kilometers
A well known linear accelerator would be SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) and the latest upcoming largest
Proton-antiproton collider would be the LHC (Large Hadron Collider). Spanning a huge aerial distance of 27km located at Geneva.
In theory, its said that this machine is capable of producing the elusive Higgs Boson which is the last particle in the list of the standard model.

There are 6 main detectors built along the accelerator. ATLAS(A Toroidal LHC ApparatuS),ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment),
CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) , LHCb and f which stands for 'beauty' and forward respectively.

So how it works or what actually happens. Here's a rough guide.

1) Imagine a torch shooting hydrogen atoms in a orderly manner and these particles are injected into LINAC2 where the electrons are stripped off the hydrogen atoms, leaving the protons particles behind. (Stage 1)

2) These protons are then accelerated at 1/3 the speed of light and exits the LINAC2 accelerator and goes into the boosters where its approx 170 meters in circumference. (Stage 2)

3) The booster then accelerates the protons to 91.6% the speed of light and being packed together before leaving the booster for the proton synchrotron which is of about 600+ meters in circumference. (Stage 3)

4) After circulating for 1.2 seconds around the Proton Synchrotron and reaching 99.9% the speed of light. Its here, that the point of transition is reached, Hence the energy from the pulse cannot increase the speed of the particles as it has already reached its max speed.

5) Instead, increasing the mass of the proton. the energy of the particles is measured in ElectronVolts(eV) and in this point, the particles have reached 25GeV and is 25 times heavier than what it was at rest.

6) The protons are now channeled to the Super Proton Synchrotron which is 7km in circumference. Its main purpose is to increase its energy to 450GeV. (Stage 4)

7) Its ready to enter the Large Hadron Collider which mentioned earlier, is 27km in circumference.

8) The particles are now travelling so near the speed of light, it goes around the lhc 11000 times per second.

9) Its now that each proton has energies of 7TeV! Thats 7000 times heavier than a proton particle at rest.

10) When 2 protons at this stage collides, it will produce energies of 14TeV and simulates the event of the big bang and the particle tracks of the collision course is analyzed by super computers around the lab.

Where we hope that these tracks give us and answer to how our universe has evolved and what would happen in the future.

Space Mining

In the near future, we humans would need more natural resources to power our ever growing population and technological advancement.
It was once said that within 60years, our fuel sources, such as coal, gas and crude oil will be depleted. We do not want that to happen.
Thus, there's a need for us to look into Space Mining. From my careful observation, i've gathered few information on gas giants around our solar system.
I'm quite intrigued by Jupiter's abundant resource of He3 fusion fuel for Daedalus, some 30,000 tons of it. Daedalus was a space vehicle from a proposed

Unfortunately, Jupiter's strong gravity is far beyond the abilities of solid-core fission rockets, stretching the capabilities of gas-core rockets in
terms of thrust-to-weight ratios. How about the other gas giants?

As you can see Uranus has the most forgiving gravity field, but Neptune and Saturn aren’t out of reach either, and Saturn has proximity to the Sun and Jupiter, for gravity assists, in its favour as well as Titan, a moon with a dense atmosphere and decent gravity. The Daedalus study assumed floating factories at the 0.1 bar level in Jupiter’s atmosphere serviced by gas-core automated shuttles, but if there’s enough need for them volatiles from the big planet atmosphere can be scooped and shipped up for processing at an off-world base.

Scoop-ships could also allow starships to be self-fuelling. I have just received an issue of the October 1973 “Analog” - the one with a gorgeous Rick Sternbach cover of two Enzmann starships and the Cover article by G. Harry Stine, “A Program for Star Flight”. It’s quite a memorable article as Stine was arguing for a star flight program to begin c.1990, and the development of a massive in-space industrial base to support the effort. His initial phase would study the nearby stars with Lunar interferometers, then launch million-ton space-probes at 0.9c, and finally launch ten-ship fleets of Enzmann starships (roughly 12,000,000 tons each, mostly deuterium fuel.) Quite a major effort, but he optimistically costs it at $100 billion (in 1973$.)

A few problems arise - 0.9c from Orion-style pulse drives is a touch unlikely, even with mass-ratios over 1,000 - but over all the concept is sound. Magnetic sails might change the approach, but the basic idea of attaching starships to huge masses of propellant, rather than big tanks, is a good one. However I have read that hydrogen and deuterium ice are mechanically like Jello and thus utterly useless as envisaged. Lithium-6 is a fusion fuel and pretty strong at cryogenic temperatures, so it might be the fuel of choice. Either that or carbon nanotubes might allow very, very light weight tanks to keep deuterium Jello in. The 12,000,000 ton starships probably mass just 120,000 tons empty (the design needs BIG mass ratios for speed), but the size Stine quotes is all wrong. Deuterium’s density is 0.16 relative to water, yet the fuel sphere is described as 1000′ across meaning a density of ~ 0.8, some five times denser than deuterium Jello. A sphere 1,710′ across will do nicely.

Refining out 12,000,000 tons of deuterium from a gas giant will be quite a task. Since deuterium is about 1/2000th of the abundance of protium in Jupiter some 24 BILLION tons of hydrogen will be sifted through to collect the fuel. Bit of a tall order, but inevitable when you’re trying to fit 2,000 people on a starship that’s over 2,000′ long and push it through a delta-vee of 0.3 c.

Actually I don’t know the empty mass of the Enzmann starship is 120,000 tons which is a touch frustrating since I’m paying attention to details here. What Stine does say is that the probes will hit 0.9 c with a mass ratio of ~ 1,000, and the starships will hit ~ 0.3 c (thus a delta-vee of ~0.6 c.) A bit of non-relativistic maths, and assuming the same exhaust velocity, means the starships have a mass-ratio of 100 (=1000^(0.6/0.9).) Now fusion reactions don’t make enough particles with sufficient energy to get that sort of exhaust velocity (about 0.13 c), nor are Orion pulse-drives 100% efficient (~25%?) More realistically an Enzmann starship will hit 0.08-0.15 c which is respectable for a fusion-drive.

An answer to artificial gravity?

Ever heard of the Stanford Torus? Or the popular Halo game series of that ring shape world. Now lets look into physics. I know, its totally absurd or not in our technology to construct a super structure like that of the novel "RingWorld" by Larry Niven. But i'm not saying its impossible. For something "less" gigantic,lets look at the Stanford Torus. Supposedly driven round creating artificial gravity centripetal acceleration seems rather convincing that between 0.9g and 1.0g of gravity is produced. But what happens if you were to be standing on this ringworld and when its spinning you walk around it. Its no doubt he feels gravitational effect.

1) What if, he were to throw a ball up in the air? Not only throwing up but there's wind blowing the ball forcing it backwards. The problem is that i don't see how this ball is ever gonna come down and that gravity only functions when you are in contact with the spinning craft or object.

2) Now what if, you were to stand still on the spinning ringworld. and facing the opposite direction of the spinning ring, you throw the ball almost or about the speed of how fast the ring rotates; in the opposite direction. The ball will be floating in thin air until it comes in contact with the ringworld.

Why is that so? The "gravity" made my the ringworld is just an artifact of a rotating frame of reference. Hence, there is no force acting on anything, imagine you were to look out to the window of the spinning ringworld and not looking out. Anyway since there is no force acting, the ball will move in a straight line as the ground moves in a circular arc toward the ball so it will appear that the ball is falling but actually only staying at its rest position until it hits the ground. Even so if there were to be air in the ringworld enclosed in a dome, i doubt air would be "rotating" just like the craft.

In a nutshell, to conclude that centrifugal as a potential answer to artificial gravity. The answer is, Yes you can. But you cant simulate perfect gravity cause its not gonna be constant. XD

This my last day of work at the security dept in UOB branch in Tampines, i think i'm gonna miss everyone there especially Wai Sim, Sophia, Daniel, Chris and even my boss, they have been really friendly to me all these while even though I've slacked sometime during the day when i get really tired. I have made friends with 2 temp staff working at the same dept with me, Ryosuke and 'Mr Chua' (well thats what Chris always address him as. LOL!) Gui Cheng. They are really nice people too, i hang out with them most of the time during the day when i'm working, i guess they are around my age group so its easier to click, not that I'm not communicating with the others, haha!
So when i left the office everyone gave me a farewell handshake and encouraged me to drop by often to say hi.

And i just got my Galactic Edition of Spore just on Thursday when i had to meet my family and have dinner at Raffles Hotel bar and billiard. It cost 70++ per head and i have to admit, I'm getting a little tired of eating there. Its like just a week ago i had another buffet at Fairmont hotel which i keep forgetting the name of that place. whatever

So anyway, when i got home eagerly to try out the new game i bought, it fucking doesn't work on my vista pc. i got really pissed and it gave me errors like crc (cyclic redundancy check) failures and stuff like corrupted files on disc. i suppose the disc was damaged but it worked on my notebook. so what i think is that my benq dvd rom is dying. so I'm gonna get a new one next week.

Here's something interesting about this week, i told myself before, i wasn't gonna get into a relationship not at this moment with anyone i supposed but its just on Tuesday i started talking to a girl i randomly added from a social interaction website, Well she's from Taiwan and yeah she doesn't understand English, you whats the interesting part? i don't understand Chinese. so yeah there's no way I'm able to message her quick enough to have a continuous conversation, cause i had to use babelfish on every sentence she typed and i had to translate English to traditional Chinese. What a right kerfuffle. Its alright i taught her English and some German too, sang some Japanese songs to her and when ever she hears me speak mandarin, she'll laugh at my accent. LOL, so she said, why not lets talk on the mic. so yeah i agreed and we really chat for like HOURS? lol yeah i come to know that she's a really nice person, we got along well and the thing is, she likes calling me a little child cause i'm 18 and she's 23. haha. eventually, i miss her almost every minute without talking to her. i always hint to her that age doesn't really matter when it comes to love. and she will laugh. Well for me i generally prefer older girls, i think they are more mature and suits my character and interest.

Lehman Brothers set to file for bankruptcy

ONE of the world's biggest investment banks has today said that it will file for bankruptcy in a move that will spread further unease about the state of global economies.

American financial giant Lehman Brothers is to file a petition under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code. The move usually allows companies to reorganise their contractual and debt obligations under the supervision of a bankruptcy court.

It follows the collapse of talks to secure a rescue deal for Lehman Brothers, one of Wall Street's oldest investment banks.

UK bank Barclays admitted that it had considered a bid for the company but decided not to proceed because it would not have been in the best interests of shareholders.

Lehman has suffered billions of dollars worth of losses in the US mortgage markets and was unable to find an investment partner to throw it a lifeline.

The firm said it was still pursuing the sale of its broker-dealer operations, as well as its investment management division.

Another subsidiary, Lehman Brothers Asset Management, will also not be subject to the petition.

Lehman said in a statement: "The board of directors of Lehman Brothers Holdings International authorised the filing of the Chapter 11 petition in order to protect its assets and maximise value."

The group racked up a third quarter net loss of $3.9 billion (£2.2bn) after a $7bn (£3.9bn) hit from commercial property and sub-prime mortgage losses.

Lehman's share price tumbled 90 per cent last week in the wake of its poor third-quarter results and amid investor concerns that the battered bank was running out of options to raise capital.

In the UK, Lehman employs staff at its regional headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, as well as its office in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Globally, the group has around 25,000 staff.

As Lehman Brothers edged towards collapse, US and foreign banks announced plans to put in place a $70bn (£39bn) lifeboat credit fund to help shore up financial markets. The consortium includes Barclays, Bank of America, Citibank and Credit Suisse.

They have agreed to create a "collateralised borrowing facility" of $70bn, with each bank contributing $7bn (£3.9bn) to help ease access to credit.

Barclays said it ruled out a Lehman Brothers bid as not being in shareholders' interest.

In a brief statement, the bank said: "We confirm that Barclays considered a combination with Lehman Brothers and did not proceed because it was not possible to conclude a transaction in the best interests of Barclays shareholders."

In a separate move to help shore up the financial markets, Bank of America has announced a 50 billion US dollar (£28bn) deal to buy Wall Street giant Merrill Lynch, which has also been stung by the credit crunch.

The acquisition follows negotiations between the firms and the US Government, which was eager to minimise the damage from the Lehman fallout.

OMG warhammer 40k!

wow i didn't know how absobloodylutely awesome warhammer 40k dawn of war was. Thanks to Clarence the other time he told me to try out soulstorm so i installed the game on my pc. I first tried Tau cause somehow that race reminds me of purity and worship of somesort like it.
Oh please someone please don't get me into playing the table top warhammer or i'm gonna spend a few thousands on games workshop.. ok thats all. warhammer pwns starcraft2!
